Who pays for this · Never the employer

No company can buy placement, suppression, response priority, or a point of score.

Not a discounted version of it, not a “partnership tier”, not early sight of a score. There is no employer product and no employer relationship to protect, because the moment one exists every other commitment on this site becomes unenforceable.

Where the money comes from

Grants, donations and Decent Mark Membership — a reader subscription that buys depth and never the answer. Licensing the aggregate data layer to researchers, unions and institutions who are not the employers being scored is the fourth line, and we count it at zero until an agreement is signed rather than forecasting it.

The gate sits behind the answer

The score, its confidence, its sample, every flag and the right of reply are free, public and indexable, forever. What is gated is depth, never the answer.

What we publish about our own money

Refusals are published, with amounts.

Twice a year The Record — our transparency report — names how many employers approached us offering payment, what they offered it for, and what we did. An organisation that publishes its refusals is one you can hold to them.
